DELTA ISLANDER PEE WEE C’S ARE PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to our Pee Wee C’s who won the gold medal at the Pee Wee Provincial Championships, July 7 – 10, 2011 in Vernon, BC, defeating Pentiction 10 – 5 in the final.

DLA is very proud to announce that Chalane Morrison, Savannah Phillips and Tessa Vincent were chosen to play for Team BC Midget Girls.  This is the second time these three girls have represented their province having done so two years ago in the Bantam division.  The girls participated in the 2011 Bantam and Midget Girls Lacrosse National Championships, July 23rd to 28th, in New Westminster, BC.   After going undefeated in round robin play, Team BC Midget girls lost a close game against Ontario in the final, finishing with a silver medal.

Delta Optimist

Further congratulations to Jonathan Phillips who was picked for the Midget Boys BC Team.  This was Jonathan’s third time playing for the provincial team having played as both a Pee Wee and a Bantam. The Midget team came home with a Bronze medal after a double overtime win against Alberta. Also representing Delta and BC is player, Riley Phillips, in the Bantam Division and goalie, Justin Smith, in the PeeWee Division of the National Championships.   The Bantam team lost the Gold Medal game in overtime, after a nailbiter of a game against Ontario.  The PeeWee team also came out of the tournament with a Bronze medal after defeating Alberta 10 -1.   The 2011 PeeWee, Bantam and Midget Nationals were held in Whitby, Ontario, July 31 to August 6, 2011.

Way to go to all of our Delta Islanders chosen for Team BC, you have made DLA proud!!
